You're right. I found her, and then forgot to post that I'd found her. I'm also VERY happy to say that apparently she was given her AOA just about a day after my little family departed the War. I'm so proud and glad for her.

Hello Uncle Akim,

Tis I Judith's niece Elewyiss. I just thought I'd drop you a note about camp coffee makers. The folks I camp with who are coffee fanatics prefer the personal press type coffee pot. However here is a link to some fine choices.

Hope this helps.

Shalom aleich, Lady Amina! You were one of the highlights of Gulf Wars for me, and I'll be so excited when I get to see you again someday, im yirtzeh Hashem (which is Hebrew for inshallah). I'm guessing that from now on, when I say "We're going to need more blankets," I'll be taken a bit more seriously. FROST on the ground, in Mississippi, in March. Yeah.

Alhamduliallah! I loved meeting you at war and look forward to seeing you again, far though our homes be from each other in the real world.

I might add that I used 7 blankets atop, and 7 under me at Gulf Wars this year and stayed quite warm. Four of these were wool, the rest polyester polar-fleece, this being cheap to buy in quantity at 5' wide (ie 60" wide). I too use an air mattress and have simply gotten use to giving it a little 'goose' of air before bedtime if needed. Of course I'm also usually inflating it at night when I arrive at an event. Hot waters bottles are a wonderful thing to bring to cold camping events as well as it warms the bed for you, (put in at torso level) then your feet all night long.

Peace be upon you and yours,
Amina al Fustat
also of Shire of Lagerdamn, Kingdom of Gleann Abhan

Notes:

Melava Malkah - "Escorting the Queen." As a queen or a bride is when compared with other women, so is the Sabbath when compared with other days: More splendrous, more honored, more protected. We sometimes refer to Shabbat as Bride Sabbath (Shabbat Kallah) or as Queen Sabbath (Shabbat Malkah) for the same reason.

Se'udat Sh'lishit - "Third meal." This is a required meal for Jews: three hot meals on the Sabbath.

Shabbat - "Sabbath." It's pronounced Shabbat (shah-BAHT) by Sephardim and Mizrachim (or if they're being very careful about enunciation, closer to Shabbath -- shah-BAHTH), and as Shabbos (SHAH-buss) by Ashkenazim. Jews don't sanctify people or places, but we do sanctify time, giving each moment its own particular flavor and character. Shabbat is the most beloved of days, the one we look forward to all week long.
