Pottery #6 » Feastware for Ann of Walton Woods, second set
Ann decided that she’d like me to make her a set of replacement feastware, this time in pale green. I chose to give her Sargasso, a glaze with much variegation and interest. It’s one of the wonders of glaze, that they’re very difficult to predict. Three pieces, four different effects, none of them planned. Seriously, I just took each piece and dipped it right in the glaze bucket, and that’s it. The fact that the plate is particolored, the bowl is swirled, and the goblet is almost striped… is just a surprise, and a very good one at that.
